We welcome established artists as well as anyone who senses a quiet creative spark and wants to see where it might lead. There’s no single “type” of artist we are looking for, just people eager to let their imagination unfold in a spacious, supportive environment. With small groups and self-directed residencies, there’s plenty of space for focused work, meaningful connection with others, and the freedom to define your own rhythm.

Life here is part of the creative experience. We ask that you look after your own space with care and mindfulness, that you make yourself at home and enjoy the simple pleasures of cooking, shared meals and enjoying the garden – an approach that enriches both personal practice and community life.

The house and grounds are set up to support many practices: there’s a light-filled studio, a spacious vaulted barn, suitable for crafts and performances, quiet corners for music, books and reflection, and gardens with hammocks and open space for wandering. Whether you’re here to write, paint, sculpt, reflect or experiment, the setting gently encourages exploration, playfulness, and new ways of seeing.

Staying at Maison Les Buis also offers opportunities for shared experiences with fellow residents, from collaborative community projects to yoga sessions, film nights, and Sunday outings to flea markets. Stays range from one week to several months, and the experience is designed to be personal and enriching.
